Stress has a way of creeping into our lives, especially for those of us balancing the demands of business, leadership, and personal responsibilities. Deadlines pile up, decisions carry heavy weight, and uncertainty looms in every corner. But stress doesn’t have to define our days. Scripture offers us peace, clarity, and assurance when life feels overwhelming. Today, we’ll turn to the Psalms to rediscover the refuge we have in God, even amidst our busiest seasons. The Lord is Our Shepherd (Psalms 23:1-4) When we feel overburdened, we often look outward for solutions—a more efficient workflow, tools to manage time, or perhaps delegating tasks. While these are useful practices, Psalm 23 reminds us that true restoration begins within. God, our shepherd, gently guides us to still waters and refreshes our souls. He wants us to lean on Him, trusting that He knows the way forward even when our path seems unclear. His presence offers peace, not just solutions. Be Still and Know (Psalms 46:10) The hustle and bustle of leadership often tempt us to do more, work harder, and be endlessly productive. But God calls us to pause and remember His sovereignty. Psalm 46:10 is a simple yet profound invitation to quiet our minds and hearts. “Be still, and know that I am God.” It's not about abdication of responsibility but about acknowledging that no matter how busy we get, He remains in control. He will be exalted, His purposes will prevail, and our worrying doesn’t add value—it only weighs us down. Deliverance in Distress (Psalms 118:5-6) The challenges of running a business or leading others often bring moments of distress. Sometimes, we wonder if we’re equipped to handle the enormity of the responsibility placed on our shoulders. Psalm 118 reminds us to cry out to the Lord in these moments. "In my distress I called to the Lord; the Lord answered me and set me in a spacious place." God doesn’t just hear our cries—He responds with freedom and protection. When we walk with Him, fear loses its grip, and we are empowered to face even the most daunting challenges. Where Does My Help Come From? (Psalms 121:1-2) Leadership can feel isolating. Who do we turn to when we don’t have the answers? Psalm 121 declares that our help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. He is our ultimate source of wisdom, strength, and provision. When we fix our eyes on Him, we rise above stress and lean into His infinite capacity to carry us through. Heavenly Father, We come before You today in the midst of our busyness and burdens. Thank You for being our shepherd, leading us to peace and restoration. Remind us to be still and know that You are God, even in the chaos of daily life. Deliver us from fear and distress, and help us to lift our eyes to You as our source of help and strength. May we find confidence in Your presence and rest in Your promises. Amen. Stress is an inevitable part of leadership, entrepreneurship, and life itself. But as Psalm after Psalm reassures us, stress doesn’t have to steal our peace. God invites us to find rest in Him, to walk in His wisdom and strength, and to trust Him with our burdens. Remember, you don’t walk this road alone—the Maker of heaven and earth is by your side, ready to help. Take a moment today to lean into His promises and allow His peace to meet you where you are.Finding Peace in Psalms During Stressful Times
